Volunteer
Chained Dogs MKE, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that aims to help improve the lives of dogs in our community. We have a range of volunteer opportunities available for individuals who share our passion for making a difference.
One of the primary volunteer roles is collecting donations from our community followers and various charitable businesses. We rely on volunteers to pick up these donations and then deliver them to families in need. Once a month, we go out into the community to distribute food and supplies to families we have previously assisted. This is a great opportunity to directly contribute to our mission of supporting those in need.
Another crucial aspect of our work is reaching out to educate families whose dogs are kept outdoors in unfavorable conditions. Whenever possible, we engage with these families to offer assistance, such as providing proper leashes, dog houses, straw, or food. We aim to improve the living conditions for these dogs without judgment, making them feel part of our CDMI family. In extreme cases where the conditions are unsafe, we may try to convince the family to surrender the dog to us so we can find them a better home. However, we can only do this with the help of foster homes. Please refer to the Foster section on our website for more information about fostering opportunities.
If directly engaging with the community is not your preference, we also have plenty of other ways to contribute. We organize events several times a year and require volunteers to assist in organizing and attending these events. Additionally, we are in need of individuals who can support our foster families by helping with vet appointments, outings, and training sessions.
If you share our passion for dogs and want to make a positive impact in our community, we welcome you to fill out an application to join our team. We are always looking for dedicated individuals who want to be part of a group that is committed to helping dogs and the community we serve.
